Our free fall movie season continues this Thursday, October 23rd @ 6:30pm.
Join us in the upstairs auditorium for
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari,
a 1920 German silent horror film directed by Robert Wiene and written by Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer, which tells the story of a hypnotist who uses a somnambulist, Cesare, to commit murders.
It has been called the first "cult" movie and the first horror film of genuine quality and substance, featuring a dark, twisted visual style, with sharp-pointed forms; oblique, curving lines; structures and landscapes that lean and twist in unusual angles; and shadows and streaks of light painted directly onto the sets.
